Options, Add-Ons & Upgrades for DOF Reality Rigs

Complete Your Rig: DOF Reality Add-Ons

Your DOF Reality platform ships with everything it needs to move - the rig, motors, control unit, SimRacingStudio license, and tools. What it doesn't include is the gear that turns a motion base into your cockpit: a seat, controls, immersion hardware, and protection. We've assembled the full official add-ons catalog below so you can spec a complete setup in one pass. Not sure what you actually need? That's what we're here for - we'd rather tell you to skip something than watch you buy a part that won't help your build.

Seats

Every Hero and Pro platform mounts a standard sim seat (the seat is not included), so this is usually the first add-on people pair with their rig.

  • DOF Reality Sim Racing Seat - $399. Purpose-built bucket seat sized for the rig; the straightforward, value choice.
  • Sparco R100 - $469. Genuine Sparco comfort seat - a step up in build and padding for longer sessions.
  • Sparco R333 - $549. Sportier Sparco bucket with more aggressive bolstering for spirited driving.
  • Sparco Sprint (FIA) - $596. FIA-rated competition shell for the most authentic, locked-in racing feel.

Safety

  • 4-Point Harness - $99. Holds you firmly in the seat so the motion loads your body instead of throwing you around. Strongly recommended on any 3+ axis rig.
  • eBrake Emergency Stop - $50. A dedicated cut-off switch to halt all motion instantly. Smart insurance for households with kids, guests, or commercial traffic.

Immersion (SRS)

Motion handles the big movements; these add the texture you feel through the seat and the air.

  • SRS UShake 6 Tactile Transducer Cushion - $429. Bass-shaker cushion that adds engine rumble, road grain, and gear-shift kick under you.
  • SRS Hurricane Wind Package - $359. Speed-synced wind in your face for a genuine sense of velocity - a favorite for VR and flight.
  • Buttkicker Mount - $25. Bracket to bolt your own ButtKicker transducer to the rig, for builders who already own one.

Wheels & Pedals

Controls aren't included with the platform, so if you're starting fresh these direct-drive bundles get you racing right away.

  • MOZA R5 DD + SR-P Lite Pedals - $499. Compact direct-drive wheel and pedal set - a strong, affordable entry into DD force feedback.
  • MOZA R9 CS DD Bundle - $875. Higher-torque R9 base paired with the CS wheel for serious feedback detail.
  • MOZA R9 GS DD Bundle - $899. R9 base with the GS wheel - a GT-style rim for sports and endurance racing.
  • Pedals Quick Release - $100. Snap your pedal plate on and off in seconds for easy storage or swaps.

Flight Controls

Running a flight or helicopter sim? These adapters mount your throttle and yoke so the full cockpit moves as one (especially relevant on the 'r' Flight/Heli variants).

  • HOTAS Mounts Kit - $120. Solid mounting points for HOTAS stick-and-throttle setups.
  • Honeycomb A+B Adapter - $70. Fits Honeycomb Alpha yoke and Bravo throttle quadrant directly to the rig.

Display

  • Monitor Mount (VESA) - $120. Attaches a VESA monitor to the rig so your screen moves with you - keeps the view rock-steady relative to your eyes. (VR users keep image stability through built-in motion compensation instead.)
  • Keyboard Holder - $20. A handy tray for a keyboard or mouse within reach while seated.

Console

  • MagicBox for PS/Xbox - $199. Bridges motion data for console titles that don't broadcast it natively, expanding what you can play on PlayStation and Xbox. See our Games & Software page for the console games that work without it.

Protection

  • Soft Protection Cover - $50. Lightweight dust cover to keep the rig clean between sessions.
  • Metal Cyber Cover - $190. Rugged metal shroud for a finished, hard-wearing look in high-traffic rooms.
  • Floor Mat with DOF Shield - $199. Protects your floor and defines a clean footprint under the rig.

Mobility

  • Transportation Wheels - $40 (2DOF/3DOF), $240 (6DOF). Roll the rig out of the way when you need the room back.
  • Lift Supports - $70. Gas-strut assists that make repositioning a heavy platform easier on your back.

Cables

  • Extension Sets - $30 (2DOF), $40 (3DOF), $50 (4DOF), $70 (6DOF). Extra length between the control box and the rig when your room layout needs it.

Future-Proof: Upgrade Later

One of the best things about a DOF Reality platform is that it's modular. You don't have to buy your final rig today. Start at the axis count that fits your budget, and when you're ready for more motion, you add axes to the rig you already own - you're not throwing the old one away and starting over. That's why our most popular pick is often a 2 or 3-axis Hero: it's a real platform now and an open door later.

Each upgrade kit includes the extra motor (or motors), the additional frame parts, and a new control/power box sized for the higher axis count. Because the kit depends on your current frame, motors, and the year your rig was built, these are quoted as "from" prices - send us your model and we'll confirm exactly what applies to your unit.

Hero Upgrade Paths

  • H2 to H3 - from $1,073. Adds yaw (rear traction loss) for oversteer, drift, and coordinated turns.
  • H3 to H4 - from $1,675. Adds heave (vertical movement) for curbs, bumps, runways, and turbulence.
  • H3 to H6 - from $3,750. Jumps straight to full 6 DOF, adding surge and sway.
  • H4 to H6 - from $2,875. Completes the set with surge and sway for maximum realism.

Pro Upgrade Paths

  • P2 to P3 - from $1,650. Adds yaw to a commercial-grade platform.
  • P3 to P4 - from $1,935. Adds heave for vertical realism.
  • P3 to P6 - from $4,990. Goes from 3 axes to full 6 DOF in one step.
  • P4 to P6 - from $4,250. Adds surge and sway to reach the flagship configuration.

Want to understand what each axis actually adds before you decide how far to go? Our Motion 101 guide breaks down pitch, roll, yaw, heave, surge, and sway in plain language, and the Buyer's Guide helps you match an axis count to how you'll really use the rig.

A Quick Note on Warranties

DOF Reality's own products and upgrade kits are backed by the manufacturer warranty (with an Extended +1 Year option available). Third-party items we resell - Sparco seats, SRS immersion gear, MOZA hardware - carry their own manufacturer warranties. Full details live on our Warranty & Support page.
