The DOF Reality H4r is the four-axis Hero platform built to do everything. Pitch and roll plant you in the corner, yaw rotates the whole cockpit through a slide or a flat spin, and heave — the vertical lift the standard H3 doesn't have — is what gives you curbs, kerb strikes, runway thump and the stomach-drop of rotors loading and unloading. Because it's a Hero platform, your seat, wheel, pedals, stick and throttle all move together as one mass, so every input you feel matches exactly what you're doing with your hands.

What makes this the "r" variant special is the gearbox. The smooth SFU drive is tuned for the slow, deliberate movements that flight and helicopter pilots live in — a gentle bank held through a long turn, the fine vertical micro-corrections of a hover — without ever going harsh when you jump back into a race. You get the same crisp jolts a sim racer wants and the silky, creep-free precision a pilot needs, out of one machine.

How it moves

This is a full-platform rig: the seat and all your controls move together, so your hands and feet stay locked to the cockpit exactly as they would in the real thing.

• Pitch — tilts you forward and back so you feel acceleration and braking.
• Roll — tilts side to side so you feel the lean of every corner.
• Yaw — rotates the platform to reproduce rear traction loss — oversteer, drift and coordinated turns.
• Heave — drives the whole platform vertically for curbs, kerbs, bumps and (in the air) runway texture and turbulence.

Games, platforms & compatibility

This is a true do-it-all rig — one platform that switches between racing, flight and helicopter sims without compromise:

• Racing: iRacing, Assetto Corsa, F1, Gran Turismo, Forza and BeamNG.
• Flight: Microsoft Flight Simulator, DCS World and X-Plane.
• Helicopter: full helicopter sim support, where the SFU gearbox and heave axis really shine in the hover.

PC (Windows) is fully supported across every title above. On console (PlayStation/Xbox), motion works for the select games that send telemetry over the network, and the MagicBox adapter bridges motion for many of the rest. VR is supported via OpenVR Motion Compensation on the Valve Index, Quest and Quest 2, Reverb G2, Vive, Pimax and more.

Shipping & delivery

Your rig is built to order and ships insured from our European manufacturing partner, door to door with tracking. The current lead time is in the Shipping and Returns tab. It arrives disassembled in two boxes (commercial-grade steel, so it is heavy by design = rigid and durable) and bolts together with the included tools; then you install SimRacingStudio and connect by USB. Any import duties, taxes, or customs charges set by your country are the customer’s responsibility and are not included in the product or shipping price — in line with the manufacturer’s policy. What does the heave axis add over the three-axis H3?

Heave is true vertical movement — the whole platform lifts and drops. On track that's curbs, kerb strikes and road texture you can feel through your body; in the air it's runway thump on landing and, in helicopters, the rotor loading and unloading as you pull and lower collective. It's the difference between feeling a surface and just seeing it.

Why choose the H4r "r" version instead of the standard H4?

The "r" uses the extra-smooth SFU gearbox, tuned for the slow, precise movements of flight and helicopter sims — gentle sustained banks and fine hover corrections stay silky with no creep or notchiness. If you fly as much as you drive, the small premium is well worth it. If you're a pure racer, the standard H4 is the natural pick.

Can one H4r really handle racing, flight and helicopter sims?

Yes — that's exactly what it's built for. As a full-platform Hero rig your seat and all controls move as one, and the four axes plus the SFU gearbox cover the sharp transients of racing and the slow precision of flight from the same machine. You just switch titles.

Will it work with my VR headset?

Most likely. VR is supported through OpenVR Motion Compensation, which keeps your in-headset view locked while the platform moves — covering the Valve Index, Quest and Quest 2, Reverb G2, Vive, Pimax and more.
