The DOF Reality P4e is a 4-axis Pro motion platform built for pilots who want to feel the airframe, not just watch it. Pitch, roll, yaw and heave drive the whole rig (seat, stick, throttle and rudder pedals travel together), so the cues hitting your hands and your inner ear always agree with what the instruments are telling you. That coherence is the difference between a sim that looks convincing and one your body actually trusts.

What sets the P4e apart from the smooth Hero platforms is the Pro drivetrain: commercial-grade steel, slightly more torque (28 vs 25 n/m) and response roughly 50% quicker (75 vs 50 cm/s), on the same 1000W peak power as the Hero 4-axis rigs. In a flight load that shows up where it matters: the sharp jolt of gear and flaps deploying, the float and settle of a hand-flown approach, the genuine vertical drop of heave when you hit a thermal in Condor or get tossed by wake turbulence in MSFS. Pitch and roll keep you informed through aerobatics in IL-2 or a knife-edge pass in DCS, while yaw adds the side-load you feel pulling through a sustained turn.

The P4e sits at the top of the 4-axis Pro tier: the rig for serious home pilots and trainers who fly often and want hardware that holds up to it. Rated to 440 lb and bolted from commercial-grade steel, it's a permanent cockpit, not a novelty.

How it moves

This is a full-platform rig: the seat and all your controls move together, so your hands and feet stay locked to the cockpit exactly as they would in the real thing.

• Pitch: tilts you forward and back so you feel the climb and the descent.
• Roll: tilts side to side so you feel the bank of every turn.
• Yaw: turns the platform left and right, so coordinated and uncoordinated turns feel different.
• Heave: drives the whole platform up and down for runway bumps, turbulence and vibration.

Who it’s for

The P4e is for the dedicated flight-sim pilot who's outgrown seat-movers and wants real four-axis motion (with heave) under a permanent cockpit they fly several times a week. It suits study-level DCS and MSFS pilots, glider and aerobatic flyers, and small training setups that need Pro-grade durability.

• Step down: If you fly casually or want the smoothest cruise-style motion over outright speed and strength, the Hero H4r delivers the same four axes with the silky SFU gearbox at a much lower price.
• Step up: If you want every cue an airframe can give you, the flagship six-axis P6e adds surge and sway on top of these four, and you can upgrade from the P4e to the P6e later with an upgrade kit if your needs grow.

Platforms: PC (Windows) is fully supported across every title. On console (PlayStation/Xbox) the platform runs the select games that send telemetry over the network, and the MagicBox adapter runs that motion without a Windows PC in between. For VR, OpenVR Motion Compensation keeps the virtual cockpit locked to the moving rig on Valve Index, Quest and Quest 2, Reverb G2, Vive, Pimax and more, so your head stays planted in the cockpit while the platform moves.

Shipping & delivery

Your rig is built to order and ships insured from our European manufacturing partner, door to door with tracking. Freight to the United States and Canada is included in the price. The current lead time is in the Shipping and Returns tab. It arrives disassembled in two boxes (commercial-grade steel, so it is heavy by design = rigid and durable) and bolts together with the included tools; then you install SimRacingStudio and connect by USB. Depending on your country, the carrier may bill import fees (duties, taxes or brokerage) at delivery. These are not included in the price and are never charged at checkout. Frequently asked questions

What does heave add for flight simulation?

Heave is true vertical motion: the platform lifts and drops the whole cockpit. In flight that's the cue your body reads as climb and sink: the drop when you hit a downdraft or thermal, the settle of a flare on landing, the kick of wake turbulence or rough air. Pitch, roll and yaw tell you how the aircraft is oriented; heave tells you it's moving through the air, and together they make hand-flying feel real.

How is the P4e different from the Hero H4?

Both are full-platform 4-axis rigs with pitch, roll, yaw and heave. The H4 uses smooth SFU-gearbox motors tuned for refined, cruise-style motion. The P4e is the Pro version (commercial-grade steel, slightly more torque at 28 vs 25 n/m, and roughly 50% faster response at 75 vs 50 cm/s; peak power is 1000W on both), so it delivers sharper, more aggressive cues for aerobatics, combat and demanding daily use.

Will my HOTAS, yoke and rudder pedals work on it?

Yes. The P4e is a full-platform design, meaning your seat and all your controls move together as one unit. You mount your stick or yoke, throttle or collective, and rudder pedals to the rig, and they travel with you, so your hands and the cockpit always move in sync.

Can I use the P4e in VR?

Yes. With OpenVR Motion Compensation the headset's tracking is corrected for the platform's movement, so the virtual cockpit stays locked in place while the rig moves under you. It's supported on Valve Index, Quest and Quest 2, Reverb G2, Vive, Pimax and more.

Can I upgrade to six axes later?

Yes. If you later want surge and sway on top of these four axes, you can upgrade to the flagship six-axis P6e with an upgrade kit. It's a sensible path if you start with the P4e and your flying grows more demanding over time.
